Podium Presentation Title: Resilience in Hip Arthroscopy: Can We Predict Patient Outcomes Based on Resiliency?

چکیده
Data in most orthopaedic studies tend to focus on the physical factors of patients for predicting surgical outcomes and how they correlate patient reported outcome measures (PROMs). However, numerous recent have shown correlation between psychometric factors, specifically resilience, with improved PROMs following surgery. Higher resilience has been lead better PROMs. hip arthroscopy short term at 6 month follow-up, but no this be true long follow-up. Our purpose was examine a minimum 2-year follow-up arthroscopy. 89 who underwent an average 4.6 years age 36.9 were included data collected: baseline demographics, details, Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), Patient Activation Measure-13 (PAM-13), Pain Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (PSEQ-2), VAS satisfaction, as well preoperative postoperative International Hip Outcome Tool-12 (iHOT-12) pain scores. Patients then stratified into Low (LR < 19), Normal (NR 19-24), High (HR > 24) by tertile determine differences groups. The LR group had significantly worse compared all other groups regards iHOT-12, pain, PAM-13, PSEQ-2 scores (p 0.001), seen when comparing NR HR 0.001). less improvement iHOT-12 from preoperatively postoperatively = 0.01, p 0.032, respectively). results study confirm that lower PROMs, satisfaction two year after

متن کاملCan we predict femoral head vitality during surgical hip dislocation?
PURPOSE Surgical hip dislocation is commonly performed in orthopaedic surgery for several pathologies that often present risk of avascular necrosis (AVN) of femoral head. Observation of blood spilling out from a drill hole, performed in the head after dislocation, has been proposed as a predictive test for AVN. No data have been published about test reliability. Study's aim was to evaluate the ...
متن کاملHip Arthroscopy: Where We Are, and Where We Are Going
In 2003, Ganz et al. described anterior femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) as an under recognized cause of early hip osteoarthritis. Impingement is a purely mechanical hip disorder defined as abnormal contact between skeletal prominence of the acetabula rim or femoral head-neck junction that leads to painful, periarticular joint. If untreated, FAI can lead to endstage osteoarthritis of the hip ...
متن کاملRevision hip arthroscopy: findings and outcomes
The purpose of this study is to report on the operative findings and the outcomes of revision hip arthroscopy. All hip arthroscopy cases are prospectively assessed with a modified Harris Hip Score (mHHS) preoperatively and postoperatively. This study consists of 190 consecutive hips (186 patients) who underwent revision arthroscopy with minimum 2-year follow-up. There were 69 males and 117 fema...
